[FIXED] Song Titles Still Not Showing with Ford Sync

I've got Ford Sync (touch screen) and I'm still not seeing song titles on my displays. Both Play Music and Pocket Casts just show "Bluetooth Stream Detected" and no song info. I see that a new feature for 4.3 was supposed to be "Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 support ? display song names on a car stereo" and I was really stoked to have this feature, but still no joy. :( Anyone else having this problem or having it work for them?

On the upside, the Bluetooth update seems to have fixed the bug where it would stay connected (and draining the battery quickly) after leaving the car about 40% of the time. Still keeping an eye on this though.

UPDATE: Further searching found this Reddit thread (who knew something useful could be found there?) suggesting deleting the phone from Sync and repairing. After doing so, song/artist info is showing on the center screen, but the instrument cluster display still just says the same. Cover art isn't showing either - just a big ugly BT icon. Half a loaf, but better than none.

Thanks for posting with the solution. I appreciate your follow up! I have Sync, but it's an older version in my 09 Fusion. The lack of the center screen means I don't get all of the options. That said, it sure is a lot easier to use. Thanks again for the post!

re:

What type of Ford do you have...I have a 2011 Edge with myTouch. I deleted the phone and repaired and still not seeing song titles on the center screen. Interested to know what model you have to see it I should pursue further. I am tempted reset the system completely....pull the fuse, as many of use myTouch owners have gotten use to with all the issues with we have had over the years. Also, are you using the stock music app?

re:

I have a 2013 Fusion with the MyFord Touch system; the mid-line audio system, not the 12-speaker Sony one. I've only tried Pocket Casts and Play Music apps. I could give Amazon MP3 a whirl, but those songs show in the play app. Haven't tried Pandora yet; don't have Spotify anymore after switching to All Access.

I have a 2011 Ford Explorer XLT... didn't work initially after 4.3 install... went to the truck right after the 4.3 install and disappointed it didnt show album and track title... but (I don't recall doing anything more than maybe rebooting the phone or toggling bluetooth) but it worked the next time i tried it!

I have the latest version of MyFordTouch software as well as the new map on sd from Ford.

Maybe besides the reboot I deleted the phone from myFordTouch as well as removed the sync from the Nexus 4 and re-added it... maybe that did it.

I did have a glitch where for some reason the MyFordTouch would no longer see my phone to add when I deleted it again and tried to re-add it. I had to goto setting and reset the the whole system which didnt work the first time... but try a few times more where it actually triggered a "scheduled maintenance" reboot (AKA: BSOD lol)... and after the whole system rebooted, it saw my phone and was able to pair and album/titles worked.

Since then I havent touched the phone settings in the car and has been hooking up and showing album and song title no problem.

Re:

I case anyone has this same problem. I had this same issue most likely because I upgraded both my phone to Android 6 and my car to the latest version of sync. My guess is because I updated the OS on the phone but didn't update the apps to be optimized for it the bluetooth became flaky. and the sync profile was also affected. I did a factory reset on the phone and re-installed (not from a backup but clean) all of my apps, this is a bit of an inconvenience but worth it in the long run to make sure all apps function at peak efficiency. I also did a master reset on sync which is in the Advanced section of the main menu. once these were both done I re-added my phone to sync and then reinstalled my music app (poweramp in my case) and this completely fixed my pause, play, pause, play issue.
