flash on chrom

Last night I used chrom to bring up a radio station audio stream, I think the station uses flash. Everything was working ok, but if I go to a different tab or go to a different app the audio stops. When I use chorme on my desktop the audio keeps playing. Do I have to enable something to keep the audio going while the web page is in the background? Or is this just how chorme works on a tablet?
