Flashed Skyraider, how can I tell if it worked?

So I flashed Skyraider tonight. Downloaded the file, put it on the SD card, rebooted to recovery and got the blue progress bar on the side before it went to the clockwork screen. Once there I installed the zip file which was named skyraider something something.zip. took like 2 seconds and was done. Rebooted and I can't tell any difference. It doesn't look any different so I held down the power button thinking if it was the new ROM it would have the option to "hibernate" the phone on the menu but it didn't. Did I flash a ROM or did I just do absolutely nothing?

Thought I knew what I was doing...guess I don't :o

You probably didn't download the right file a Rom won't load in 2 sec and you must wipe also.

Also if you get that blue bar please delete the PB file you have on your SD card

rooting the Dinc

Big ups to upstreammiami for the help with root for my girl's Dinc.... I highly recomend this dude... Thanks again...

Try it from ROM manager if you're just starting. However, very important:

Do a nandroid backup before flashing a ROM
Wipe your system/dalvik/cache before flashing a ROM.

Use titanium backup to back up your applications.

The boot animation would say "skyraider" and you would have the power control toggles in the notifications drop-down. If you don't see that, you don't have it loaded.

Maybe make sure you don't have any other zips on the sdcard? Maybe you installed a old froyo zip or something.

Guess i should have said it in the first post but it was late and i had just finished 3 pints of Total Eclipse Stout...I did clear cache and data and didn't think i had any other zips on the SD card but oh well...I ended up just reverting to the backup i had made prior to "flashing" (or not flashing ha ha).

Having another go at it now.

Thanks just checked the sd, found it, its gone. clearing data now and then flashing.

Think i had confused my self and renamed it PB31IMG thinking i had to do that to flash it.

Nope using recovery and the "install zip" option. then just did it again without renaming anything and it ran through it in like 2 seconds again...its rebooting now. I see no skyraider bootup or anything, just standard reboot.

No in recovery select install zip from SD, then click choose from SD then locate the file . Do not click update.zip

Yep, thats what I did.. install zip from sd, NOT the "update.zip". still no luck. going back to my nandroid and going to try through the ROM manager..or i'll just try virtuou...or however you spell it.

Looks like the same file i downloaded earlier. Going through ROM manager gives me same result...negative Skyraider.

Its the exact same file i downloaded last night.

HA! Hope so cause i've been in and out of CWM like hooker on new years eve!
restoring my nandroid AGAIN! Going to use ROM manager and see if Virtuous works.

Used ROM manager to flash Virtuous and it worked as advertised. Still can't figure out why Skyraider wouldn't work.

I'm doing the same thing with a splash screen and not getting anywhere. I'm rooted and have the splash img saved on my SD, update from SD, choose file, then nothing. Reboot, nothing. Trying to figure out what I missed. Did it before, but lost now.

i think you flash splash screens from hboot, not recovery. think there's another thread about this going on now in the roms/hacks section.

i know i'm doing it from HBoot but i get nothing. :( i'll try a few more times, i think there's another reason it's not working. i can flash a ROM no problem, but the splash things don't work.
