I rooted my phone for the first time last night through mac and that was easy enough but now I'm having a hard time finding directions for how to actually flash a rom with mac. I've searched AC and XDA but I found mostly all PC (exe) files and such. Am I missing a step by step thread or can someone give me a quick walkthrough??

You can use ADB on your Mac to flash CWM, and then use CWM to flash ROMs and kernels. But if you need Odin to flash anything, you will need a PC. There is a thread here about using a Mac to flash CWM...
Thank you! Finally a push in the right direction. Now what do you mean IF I need odin? Wouldn't it be the same for everyone with a Fascinate?
did you check your other thread? an easier method would be to use rom manager. get the paid version, its worth it. you can do it all from your phone. no computer required. you could also get your own computer instead of borrowing steves.

But they're so good for everything else besides phone hacking! I honestly thought the other thread would have got moved/deleted when I made doubles but yes I just checked it and that is awesome I am buying it now. What do I do once it's on there?

Dammit I thought I was done with you but not yet! I have clockwork and rom manager now, I clicked backup current rom, it booted into clockwork I'm assuming and said it was in manual mode with a couple options to apply update, reboot, etc. What do I do now that I am at this screen?
thats odd. it should not have done that. you make you selection in rom manager, selecet the wipe data and cache, and backup existing rom, then hit ok and ok again to reboot. the rest should be watching a bunch of code on your screen until it reboots on its own. if you did not select wipe data and cache it may cause problems, but not usually until you reboot. i would start all over.

Unfortunately you have to flash the CWM kernel with Odin on a PC or ADB/redbend_ua on a Mac before CWM will be functional. Flashing with ROM Manager alone won't work for the Fascinate
You want Odin just in case on this phone, might as well install Boot Camp now instead of waiting until you mess something up. XP is good enough, only takes 10gb.
Once you have Windows and Odin you need to install Clockwork using Odin. Search for instructions, I'm sure they're stickied

cwm is flashed through odin while the phone is in download mode. there should not be a problem connecting in download mode to use odin.
Who said anything about a problem connecting to Odin?

lol. maybe your right. ok i was under the understanding that cwm was working, and then all he would have to do is build his rom in rom manager and then let it do its thing.
Nah he needs to install CWM first to use RM. It won't install properly through the app. You can technically install CWM via ADB, but Odin is easier and you need it anyway for modems and back to stock packages when you mess up.
