flashing without odin?

i try and all i get is the samsung starup screen :/ ( just the logo, no animation)

Did you also flash a corresponding AOSP kernel in the same cwm session? If not, that would be your problem. Kaoscinate, jt's AOSP ROM, and CM6.2 require AOSP kernels not touchwiz kernels. You also have to flash gapps (google apps.) All the instructions are in jt's OP in that thread.
