When you pull down your status bar there should be a tile that says flashlight

My pulldown doesn't look like that either. Still looks the same as it did with KitKat.

That is because that is not the stock LG ROM that is from an AOSP based rom or CM 12 .

Regardless of look, I still do not have a flashlight built in and I thought lollipop was going to bring that unless att has something to do with it not being there

Open your camera app. That should put the flashlight in your quick settings. If your carrier/phone doesn't allow that you can install Power Toggles to get that switch in your notification bar

I don't know about lollipop because I don't have it yet but there is a very nice flashlight app in the smartworld store.
