Flasing the HTC EVO 4G to cricket

okay so last week I bought an HTC EVO 4G from ebay, the esn was clean and it was working perfectly. The next day I went to Cricket to get it flashed, and after an hour of waiting they told it couldn't be flashed :'( I was just wodering if it was that one phone or all HTC EVO'S that can't be flashed or maybe even the store i went to. Im going to by a new HTC EVO 4G cuz i really love that phone should i try a different store as well??????

What version of hboot is it running, also is it already rooted or not?

To check and see what version of bootloader it has, remove and re insert the phones battery. press and hold the volume down button while doing so press the power button..

We don't have a removable battery. Just power off the phone, than press and hold power and volume down until the home button stops flickering.than release.

Yes true the new ones don't but since this post is in the wrong forum it is about the OG evo as the title implies
