Floating Keyboard?

Hi All - new S24 Ultra owner here

Yesterday, seemingly out of nowhere - when I tap into a text box field in any app/program, I'm getting a pop-up menu bar/floating keyboard instead of the traditional full-size docked keyboard at the bottom of the screen:



If I select the keyboard icon from the pop-up menu bar, I get this:



I'm can drag the floating keyboard around the screen, but it won't dock at all (dock bar seems to be greyed out, as shown above) - moreover, if I select the 3-dot icon for more options, I come to this screen - which shows a greyed out "Modes" option:



If I go into Keyboard settings (Settings > General management > Samsung keyboard settings > Mode), I am already configured with "Standard keyboard" on both Portrait and Landscape view. Turning the device sideways to get the screen to shift to landscape view and back doesn't change/fix the issue; I've also tried resetting the keyboard and clearing it's cache - as well as restarting the device - no change in behavior

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Are you using your S Pen? That happens to me when I tap a text field with my S Pen instead of my finger or if my S Pen is too close the screen. Just a thought...

@BerryBubbles - thanks! yes, this only seems to come up when I use the S Pen to tap into the text field instead of my fingers (so you may have just narrowed it down to an S Pen glitch or setting)

@mustang7757 - thank you for the welcome! already ran a standard keyboard reset (couple times, actually) and cache clear, no effect (reset of the device itself = no change either)

**Edit > rebooted the device, not reset - to be clear (BIG difference!)

@BerryBubbles - cheers! Problem solved! It was related to S Pen, not keyboard settings -

Toggling the "S Pen to text" option to OFF stopped the pop-up menu bar/floating keyboard (I guess I somehow invertedly activated that, and it overrode all keyboard settings)

I was on my way to a meeting & didn't have time to search for where the setting was located.
