FM Radio app gone after Lollipop

So on my Sprint HTC One M7, the radio tuner app I use every day on the train, the FM Tuner app, is gone. Anyone know what's up or have a solution or alternative?

I'd prefer not to use an internet radio app to save on battery on my daily commute. The FM Radio tuner was perfect so I could listen to my local stations w/o using data.

Thanks!

I could be wrong, but I don't think that FM Tuners are supported on the M7 or the M8 anymore.

I know that when I got the M8, back in March of last year, that it didn't have the FM Tuner app, and if I'm remembering correctly, I think I read that it was no longer supported.

It is still supported on the M7. I have one. But the FM Tuner was taken out of Lollipop from what I have been reading. Only one of many reason I will not install Lollipop. I have a perfectly working M7 with Kit Kat.

Use Next Radio!!! My phone has a FM Turner built in but, it didn't have a radio app so I got this one!

This is total crap that they would remove a feature from our phones without permission! They can't do that.

I just discovered this was missing too. Google has replaced it with "Tunein" radio app so they can monitor what you listen to and make more money off of you through ads, and phone minutes. Verizon has also turned this "feature" off, probably for the same reason. I think everyone should lodge a complaint with the FCC. This is a built in Feature to most phones, and I feel like I am being molested by Google. I bought this phone (HTC One) a few years back and that is one of the features that I liked. The FM Chip still resides in the phone, but it has been turned off and Google will not provide a APK for it. The only true App that uses the FM Chip now is "Spirit1" but you have to pay $8.88 for it as of this writing. Why should I have to pay for something that I bought with the phone back when I purchased it? This is marketing monopoly by Google...nothing more!

There are some ad loaded apps that will run the FM tuner in the phone. However, I really prefer not to have ad driven apps if I can help it. The other one that got me was the damned flashlight app that disappeared after one of the updates. No ads and it worked. Just like the FM tuner.

Can I ask are all of you American ?
On my HTC one M7 I still have the FM Radio and not the tune in app.
I'm from the UK .

My FM radio disappeared after an upgrade to Android 7 on my HTC One M9. Thanks to this forum I downloaded Spirit 1 and it works !! Pity I had to pay for it. Very annoyed it went in the first place..Donbid uk
