Just thinking... is that different from Verizon UNLOCKED that Rizzo269 has? Because even though I received the phone locked, it becomes unlocked in 60 days.

Because yesterday when Rizzo269 posted he got it, I checked a number of times during the day/eve and had no update available until this morning so I thought there was a difference.

I think they may be different if I understand it correctly. The locked version was originally a verizon device that becomes unlocked for any carrier. My device was an unlocked version from Samsung which has a different device code/software. In the past, I have flashed my carrier device with the unlocked software to remove the carrier specific items.

Hopefully that makes sense as I was trying to get it straight in my head as well lol!

Yeah the carrier version will end in a U at the end of the model name and can be sim unlocked.

The unlocked version model number will be U1 at the end and is sim unlocked.

Can flash to either one but if your not sim unlocked on the carrier it won't be sim unlocked if u flash to the U1 firmware.

Did you get the Att bloat and start up screen Logo? I know it prompted configure and restart.

No. Since I got it from my Verizon rep at work, it boots up silently with the reddish V... Verizon logo.

Then it gives me the notification to remind me that I'm not using a Verizon sim at the beginning when I do reboot my phone lol. SIM (SIM1) isn't from Verizon Wireless.
