For Anyone Considering the Charge Over the Bionic

I bought the Charge in May- after spending 5-6 agonizing months looking at this and other boards about when the Bionic would see the light of day. Best decision ever.

I don't understand why so many of you let Motorola waste a good portion of your lives stalking a phone that would have come out in May had they not f'd up, and now they have you checking in for daily updates for a phone that won't come till September??

  1. Quite simply I wait because I do want to get the most out of my upgrade.
  2. Last I checked it was August 2nd, September is now ~29 days away. I can wait.. If it were 6 more months, yeah I'd be gone like a shot.

Once the bionic comes out, if I hate it, I might end up going with a Charge or the SG2. I'm glad you're happy with your purchase. Bottom line is, there are also other phones worth waiting for too. Plus, I just enjoy hanging out here mostly.

Respect your views- but, in the time you've been waiting for a Bionic- since I bought my Charge and stopped the torture- I am already about 9% of the way to my next phone, which when it comes out will be leagues above the Bionic, while also receiving 3 months of 4G Droid enjoyment to boot.

I come here every so often for the Charge board- and then look at this board for giggles. I just think you guys are chasing Motorola like a really snooty girl whose pretty but not that hot, while the much better girl who actually likes you is waiting at your doorstep.

At the end of the day- the marginal difference between a Charge and a Bionic is not worth months of your lives. That second core will not change your life.

Perhaps not the second core, but the build quality, LED notification, signal quality, and volume/speaker/headphone quality might. That being said, I'm gonna root the Charge as soon as I find some time and see if that helps at all. Anyone know of any vanilla or as close to vanilla AOSP ROMs for the Charge? (I know this is the wrong place to ask, but I figured I might as well try :) )

Ok so I have some buyers remorse with my Charge. I'm really missing Motorola's quality and some of my text messages haven't been coming through (confirmed that it is a problem with Samsung's software :( ). Anyone know how Verizon's return policy works? My 14 days are up a week from today. If I return it before then would I be able to get the Bionic at a subsidized price (I used an upgrade to get the Charge) when it comes out, or do they just give me back my money? Or is it a better idea to stick with the Charge until the Bionic comes out, and hope to sell it for enough money to stomach the full retail price of the Bionic?

I have not done it, but I believe that you return the phone and pay a $35 restocking fee. After this your upgrade is back and you can buy another phone at the subsidized price.

I have returned my Charge and am now once again waiting for the Bionic while using my almost dead OG Droid :)

Did you ever own an X? If you did, you wouldn't be adding it to the above list. The X is a bad ass device. If it weren't for me wanting a LTE device, I would be just fine staying with mine. Sorry, but you instantly lose credibility with a list like this...
Yup, My Droid X is AWESOME! I too am just upgrading for LTE.
