For Google's first phone, they did a great job

This phone has been getting a lot of hate and I don't understand why. I think Google knocked this phone out of the park. Sure it's not perfect, but I like the premium direction Google is taking. Features like water resistance and wireless charging aren't "must haves", I think the software experience and camera are what's important and Google clearly proved that in the Pixel. I've never seen a situation where EIS was better than OIS until now. I used to be a Samsung customer, but I think I'm sticking with the Pixel for the long run.

I agree, but I haven't been seeing a lot of hate for it except from people who are misinformed about certain features and whatnot.

All online reviews are overwhelmingly positive (usually rating it 9/10 or so). The camera is truly unmatched in the current mobile world.

Next year, I would hope to see waterproofing, but I don't think that's a big deal for many people (or Samsung would have sold more "Active" variants). Obviously something you'd rather have than not have though. I also hope they don't go for a dual camera design, if Apple's implementation is any indication.

I have not used one, so I cannot say anything from a hands on experience. Overall I like how it is being marketed, and from what I have read, seen on this phone I think it will be a winner.

Very early impressions for me after 2 days is very good. So fast and smooth.

I also agree with Carraser23. I came by the "G" phone via the Note 7 issues.
To my pleasant surprise, the G turned out to be a good one. I'm less than a day into using, but very impressed. Camera and video are excellent, strong build quality and easy in the hands. Screen on the XL is as good as the Note. All my Note apps moved over so I didn't miss a beat.

Got mine today and am very impressed so far. Super fast and I'm loving the smaller size. 128gb Pixel...
