Tech person rule of thumb still applies just as much in 2013 as it has for the last 20+ years folks - the best way to make sure you don't glitch during or after an update is to wipe your device clean before updating. Yes a factory reset is a bit more work, but worth it.
 
I agree but it's 2013.. I'm done with that ****. If it bugs THEN I'll do a fresh install. Don't see why I should start at fresh install first unless I'm a serious geek, which I'm not :). Even if I was, I'm still a consumer and have certain expectations in 2013. It should be fine to just click update. Just my 2 cents

That being said, after forcing the update I DID have to re-add my Google account, but that's about it.
