I just picked up a P4 XL panda from Best Buy, they had stock and a $100 gift card with purchase so I swapped the 3xl I bought for it. Has anyone tried forcing 90hz to be on at all times and of so, is there a noticeable difference in battery life? I know some features people say destroy battery life but in real use, they rarely cause any noticable difference. However, with the refresh, I'm thinking this may be different.

I would TBH... but that is just me. I usually am always able to charge due to work, truck, etc. so I wold want to enjoy that sweet 90 hz.

I have been using forced 90hz since Tuesday on the XL, battery life has been good. No idea the difference though, sorry.

I'm going to leave it on 90 and see how the battery fairs, too nice to have it off 80% if the time!

I've been running forced 90hz on my Pixel 4 since I got it and battery life is still good. Even slightly better than my Pixel 3

I can notice it instantly, scrolling is more like the iPhone, smooth scrolling but better. Haven't watched too many videos or games yet but should be better too.

I don't force 90Hz. I keep my display brightness pretty high (around 83%) and have read that keeps it at 90Hz more. I haven't had any issues and like the way it runs as is, without forcing it.

I did force 90Hz to investigate something else, but that didn't solve an issue I had, and it ended up being something else.

Maybe it's just my eyes, but I can't really see a huge difference between the 60 and 90hz display.

I don't quite understand that. The difference is like night and day to me. I force it on now that I have seen how good it is...

I forced 90hz and honestly I can't see a difference either. Battery life didn't take a huge hit from what I could see. Since I couldn't notice a difference though I turned off 90hz totally and have it set on 60hz.

I forced 90hz on my XL and have not noticed any battery issues. Really impressed with the phone so far.

I force 90hz. I'm always near a charger so I haven't actually tested the battery life yet.

Question for the pixel 4 owners , in battery save mode does it go back to 60hz ?

I force 90hz, coming from a OnePlus 7 pro, this is something I loved. I'm always near a charger though, I did try a whole days use, and easily got me through my daily phone use.

I have tried the force option, add me to the list of those who cannot see any difference!
