Force installing apps on SD card

Hello, this is pretty much my first try at forum, I have the LG Optimus S and I got it rooted, to where it does show the # but when I try to pm setInstallLocation 2 it says
[1] Killed pm setInstallLocation 2

Here is what I did:

C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb shell
$ su
su
# pm setInstallLocation 2
pm setInstallLocation 2
[1] Killed pm setInstallLocation 2


I have tried this many times, and i still get the same msg. I have the superuser app installed and i have even tried the connectbot app to change it from there but to no avail. Isn't rooting supposed to bypass permissions? If so why isn't this working? Thank you for any help.

Try doing this locally on the phone, not through adb. I just tried it in terminal on my phoneand I think it worked (after getting the same result as you when I tried it through adb)..
