Forced Roam Hack (Cyanogenmod Nightly Build)

lol, i knew the phone is using verizons towers every now and then, and verizon is leeching off of at&t every now and then, so through the power of transit, sprint is using at&t towers...haha. i love sprint...

How? Sprint/Alltel/VZW (and a few others) use CDMA.

AT&T uses GSM. How can they roam off each other?

im a little confused lol

This will allow us to force the EVO to roam. The only options out of the box are automatic and Sprint only. I don't advocate getting a phone on a carrier where you know you'll have to roam all the time, but sometimes it can come in handy. For instance I was at a party a few weeks ago where there was poor Sprint signal but strong Verizon. My phone would try to keep on Sprint's poor signal which killed my battery very quickly. Having the option to force roaming would have been really nice.

Now if only we can get the phone to roam on 3G....
