When I have my device connected to Ford Sync via blutooth the skip track button on the wheel only fast forwards. Ive used Android and iPhone with it in the past and it always skipped to the next track. Is there a setting to change for this? Thanks

Probably yet another bluetooth version that requires yet another update to Sync. Personally, I gave up on updating Sync with the thumb drive a couple of years ago and just use my MP3 player hooked to the USB, or a Thumb Drive hooked into the USB port. The buttons work that way!

I Bluetooth my music with my Ford escape sync all the time on my m8

And I use steering wheel controls to skip tracks ahead n previous

And your Ford has the latest version of sync to work with the latest version of Bluetooth... I have a 2012 platinum F150 and have updated it twice. It's a pain, so I don't do it anymore. I just use a 128GB flash drive

Im not sure what NadaAddict is fussing about, thanks to him i updated my sync software in my truck and it took less then 15 minutes. I read the instructions, followed them and it was easy. Even though my truck is new its a 2014 model and the software was august 2014. I went online, registered and bam, got the update. Ill test it later but the update was easy.

Don't mistake luck for mad skills. It crashes about 50% of the time during the install, (just hangs then fails like 20 minutes later) and then you're off to the dealer to get reprogrammed. It has gotten better since the original sync, but my 2012 buried itself on the second update. The dealer said it's a risk every time, but they can hook you up if it glitches during the install. It took the dealership 3 tries to get mine reprogrammed the last time. My first experience with Sync in my 2008 F150 was by far the worst though.

Since I use a flash drive for tunes now, iamsixnine compelled me to update mine yet again. It took this time without an issue which means no trip to the dealership.

I see it lists songs now on bluetooth instead of reading bluetooth audio, and my buttons work again. If anyone else tries it and your sync crashes, don't get mad at me... YMMV.

Thanks for all the help guys. I updated sync and the steering wheel controls work and also it finally shows track and artist names unlike before.

I came in at the later stages of the software, after they fixed the issues you are talking about. Im sure with it crashing as much as you say it did and having to go to dealerships to get it fixed caused them to put a few more bucks into the programming team or fire a few people until it is what it is now.

Either way im glad i didnt have to go thru what you did.
