Question Can I use Quickstep Launcher to sync homescreen folders on an Android device with another android device?

All I want to do is sync my homescreen folders (and the Apps placed in them) from one android device home screen to another one I own instead of manually setting these up all over again on the other device. Even searching online for this yields very little by way of solutions. How does Google/Android and the Internet combined, get to 2024 with such an incredibly basic use case being so difficult to resolve? It beggers belief.

Can the default Quickstep be used to achieve the above?

I couldn't even find this app on Play or easily find it to download. That's a bit of a yellow flag for me. One APK mirror site I found, AppBrain gave a small snippet of information but pulled it from their servers. The last update was in 2017; there's a second yellow flag.

So, I can't even help you test if I wanted to. I would question having this application on your device, as when I searched for the Quickstep app in my web browser, I got almost as many hits on removing it as I could to install it.

Which phone do you have?

Most stock launchers don't have the ability to backup and restore the homescreen setup. 3rd party launchers like Nova do have this option, though, so you could consider installing that (Nova is my go-to launcher).

Which device?
Samsung/Google device do copy your home screen setting to next device if getting a new one , 3rd party launcher like mentioned I only Nova does back up and restore and Samsung had back up and restore options no matter the device

It's a Nokia 6.1 so yes it's about 5 years old, but still, I just thought that this should at least be an option on the stock android operating system, but it seems like Google are leaving to device manufacturer software overlay on stock android. I believe with Nova it's only on the premium version they offer this option. If I buy Nova app launcher will it sync to multiple devices?

(Or I buy a Samsung device... but even then, it won't inherit my current homescreen folder and Apps). Google should have solved this problem years ago... instead they leave millions of users struggling with such a basic use case.

Keep in mind that Android historically was designed with a fairly basic interface, and Google left it up to developers to come up with more bells and whistles for customization. As other manufacturers (especially Samsung) came up with their own tweaks and features, Google has slowly added more features, but I think they're also conscious of not adding excessive bloat to their own version of Android (i.e., the one you see on Pixels), because not everyone will want to use every single feature. Indeed, that is often one of the criticisms of Samsung's UI -- that there's just too many features that often aren't used, can cause confusion, and also increase the size of the system.

The free Nova Launcher can backup and restore your setup -- it's listed in the Play Store page. (If you look up Nova Launcher Prime, there's nothing there about adding the backup/restore feature.)

Samsung I believe has the best back and restore, you can do this by Samsung cloud, USB c drive or Samsung Smart switch pc

Thanks. I will look into Nova launcher. In principle I agree, but is doesn't need to be a feature in the stock android system so should add no bloat/size at all... it should just be an option in the device setup... so during set up "Do you want to copy the Home screen app folder structure from another android device to this one?" (Ideally it would also copy/install any home screen widgets also). This would save millions of users having set this up from scratch when they get a new device.

I think that actually does happen when you set up a new Android phone -- you'll get asked if you want to restore from a previous backup of any of your other Android devices. The system will attempt to restore your previous homescreen setup, but one of the problems is that if all of the 3rd party apps haven't been reinstalled yet, there might be a bunch of blank spaces (where those apps were placed on the previous phone).
