Android Central Question

Phone : J7 Duo SM-J720F - Android Version: 9

I used to use SIM-1 for Data & SIM-2 for Calls + Texts
Now I have SIM-1 for Data + Calls + Texts (SIM-2 Slot is empty)

The original SIM-2 name is still appearing as a choice in various places (such as ringtones).

(SIM CARD MANAGER options for SIM2 are greyed out.)

How can I make the phone forget that there was ever a SIM in slot #2

I registered as you suggested B Biddy
Unfortunately clearing the sim manager cache and restarting did not help.
I suppose it's just another one of those minor problems that persist when one changes SIMs
(Like my SIMs original number still showing in SIM Card Manager after porting MY number.)

If it's not causing any direct issues, then I agree, leaving it alone is a safe bet. But I also think clearing that app's data won't cause any problems -- you might have to remove the SIM and reinsert it afterwards so that the appropriate data gets set up again.

Try putting an unused sim in the second slot. Then try to designate all calls, data, and texts to the first one. Then remove the unused sim. It could be that if you removed the second sim before changing the settings that is is causing a problem.
