Formatting Memory Card As Internal Storage

I learned I can format my memory card as internal storage on my Moto e4 for Verizon. However, when I did that, I could no longer see the memory card on my computer when I connected it to the phone using a USB cable. If I want to swap files between the memory card and my computer using the USB cable, should the memory card show up in Windows Explorer? If no, how can I swap files between the two? Would I need to drag and drop files from my computer on to my phone's internal memory, then on my phone transfer those files from the internal memory to the memory card? Is this something I could also do via Bluetooth?

Thank you.

That's adoptable storage, which basically means that the card storage becomes part of the phone's memory - not a separate card.

That would mean that you would move files just like you move other files that are part of the phone's internal storage, if I understand the concept right. (I have never used adoptable storage...the card in my E4 is not formatted that way.)
