There's no such thing as formatting your tablet. A factory data reset restores it to factory condition, which will wipe all of your data.

It wont hurt it but it will kill a random ipad owner and break a random gs5 owners arm.

Just messing but no it wont break anything no broken arm no dead bodys all that will happen is that everything will be deleted

Plug your device in your computer and go in to finder or my pc and left click and select "format" and click yes theres an format

It may not be advisable to do it that way. I've never tried that way before, so I'm not sure if it only causes a factory data reset, or truly wipes the entire internal storage clean, including the OS. If the latter, then you've just made the device into a nice little paperweight.
