So I'm an Apple user - I use Macs at home and at work and I have an iPad which I love. But I've been somewhat of a dual-platform user for phones, going back and forth between iOS on iPhone and various Android phones. Presently I'm using a VZW Galaxy S3.
I've been eyeing the iPhone 5 (I actually like the look & design), however I've read today that it was designed by Apple - on purpose - to NOT support simultaneous voice & LTE data (nor SVDO 3G) on Verizon so they could reduce the antenna count from 3 to 2 (no separate LTE antenna).
It's 2012. Almost 2013. And the brand-new flagship device doesn't support simultaneous voice and data? You've got to be kidding, Apple? Right?
Apparently not. Even the GSM-UTMS/LTE models drop LTE when on voice calls, so data is cut to the HSDPA network. Again, because Apple didn't want to include a separate LTE antenna.
Sorry, Cupertino. I'm sticking with my 2013-compatible Galaxy S3.
