Former Palm Pre WebOs users

Since I just made the switch from WebOs, any advice for a new droid user?

I thought I heard there were some custom apps that had a WebOs card like feel to them??

Is there a free tether app?

From what I've read, free wifi tether apps aren't yet working with Jelly Bean, and even when they get one working, it might require rooting your phone. Not sure whether some might work via USB cable. I'm also interested in this (had it on my Pre 2), but I haven't really had time to fully check it out yet.
