Forum for Pixel 5a 5G?

You might want to take a look at this article, just came out today, which pits the Samsung S21 vs. the Pixel 5a. I understand the S21 isn't exactly an S20 FE, but I still think the article is useful to you.

I did not think it was fair to rate the S21's battery higher than the Pixel 5a since the only way to get S21 in Pixel's endurance range was too throttle down the screen rate to 60 hz, something that I doubt a Samsung owner would do.
It's a great value and to get $300 for my Samsung I would be paying only $150 for a Pixel 5a 5g which I really think is hard to pass up right now

In case anyone's on the fence about returning the phone since it's not being updated, the return window is 14 days. This appears to be 14 days from when it shipped? It is in my case at least. So something to keep an eye on. If they really aren't going to patch the zero-day vulnerabilities that have come up over July and August and are waiting until Android 12 in October or November mine is definitely going back.

I have a feeling Google will send update first week in September. Just a hunch. If it doesn't arrive by then I will put the sim back into my s10e.

That's good to hear. For the first time in a very long time, I purchased a phone at introduction rather than waiting for the bugs to be ironed out.

The 5a is a good phone for the money but there are some early quirks and bugs.

Congrats on the device, whats the 5a going for ?

$449 outright but if through Google Fi, it's like $9/month for the phone and $6/month insurance for 2 years. I need a 5G account for testing coverage in my area so Fi at least shows me TMO somewhat.

$15/mo is cheap for testing and compared with 4a 5G or 5 price

Excellent.

Bought mine from the Google store for $449. I got the Pixel Buds bundle where they knock $40 off the Buds, regularly $99, in the bundle for $59.

I've never bought a phone upon introduction but with the camera on my 2XL being intermittent I had no choice. Very weird that my camera gets flaky on the exact date the Pixel 5a become available.

I presume when the Pixel 6 comes out there will be discounts on the 5a.

Congrats also , that's pretty good deal on the buds bundle

Keep an eye on your return window. They usually release updates around the 5th, which only leaves a few days leeway for early adopters to either get the patch or send it back for a refund.
