Forwarding attachments

I am sorry if this has been posted already but I searched and came up empty. I am using the standard email app.... Is there a way to forward attachments? I am now realizing that when I forward an email that contains an attachment the recipients do not receive the attachment. Is there a setting I am missing? The only other mail app I tried was K9 but thought the interface was ugly, I didn't notice if the attachment problem happens in K9..
