Fragmentation

Seems like fragmentation is making it harder to replace phones. Tried to replace an EVO 3d today and they are on back order so they said they was give me an epic.... How is that even close to the same thing. Not an epic touch. A regular epic.

I'm not so sure that that's a fragmentation issue as much as it's an "out of stock" issue. Your real complaint here should be that, if the phone is just backordered, why can't they backorder replacement E3D for you? Did you not have the option to tell them you did not want the epic? I've replaced many phones with Sprint over the last decade, through insurance and TEP, and have had to deal with similar situations in the past. But if I don't feel that the phone they are giving me is equivalent to the phone that I had I make sure that they know how I feel and they have always managed to put me in the right phone.

Yeah I get what your saying. I guess what I was trying to say is with so many devices over so many OEMs a lot of them get discontinued before two years is even up, or they are hard to get ahold of and so on. The 3vo is only about a year and a half old and they didn't have it. As opposed to like an iPhone 4 which is produced by one OEM for one OS which in turn makes it easier to get ahold of in the long run. Sorry if I seem confusing, or I'm jumping all over the place, I kinda lose the ability to articulate my thoughts to paper sometimes. That's what I sort of was thinking when I meant fragmentation though.

Htc pumps out phones. I wonder what their next sprint model will be. Maybe a new evo design lte. Maybe if compain enough they'll give you a better model

They gave me an early upgrade so we got a GS3. It's for my wife. so cheap from radio shack wow. That's the way to go.

Why would you accept an Epic? That is not a comparable model, that is a downgrade.

The dudes at the sprint store weren't exactly the brightest bulbs. They tried to tell me that the OG evo and the Epic had the same hardware as the 3vo. It would have been awesome if they moved her up to an lte but they didn't really seem to comprehend the fact that I didn't want to take a step down.

Considering the Evo 3D has MUCH more memory, more than twice the processing power, MUCH faster graphics, MUCH higher res screen, and MUCH more storage than the Evo OG, they sound pretty damn stupid. It is truly amazing that people can work at Sprint stores and know nothing about anything they sell.
