Messing with kernel voltage and clocking settings *can* gain you improved batt life.
However, those improvements will be small to hardly noticable and most will probably be a placebo. YMMV

The problem lies in how do you actually compare different settings. You would need to have the EXACT same usage pattern from one setting to the next. Near impossible.
