Ok so i've recently been hearing this "linaro" name pop up in reference to roms and now kernels. I'm already using franco's kernel and I'm on the latest nightly. I've felt like the battery life was slightly better on previous releases so i found some downloads for earlier ones but then i stumbled over the linaro ones. I've also just flashed liquid 1.5 and have been told that this rom along side a franco linaro kernel (r190 10pcoc) to be exact. Heres a link to the site for the downloads that i found KERNEL [GPL][NIGHTLY - r196] franco.Kernel | Linaro Experimental Builds [Archivos] - HTCMania but i have NO IDEA which to download. So can someone explain to me pros and cons of the linaro ones vs. what you typically get off the franco app.

Unless you are running a Linaro ROM I don't think you will see much improvement at all and even with the ROM I didn't see a huge difference when I was running the AOKP with Linaro enhancements. If you do wish to download one I would go with 194 or 196 384GPU for now.

I tried a linaro kernal on aokp the other day and it sent me loopin. Now I'm on Franco 194 linaro running oxygen3 and it seems very smooth and quick but I didn't run that combo for long.

Ok. So what is Linaro exactly. what kind of enhancements can it provide

Linaro is a group of open source devs that made a series of optimizations for the Galaxy Nexus. What specifically, I have no idea; according to Roman Birg (AOKP) they're using a different "tree" and right now they can't get much out of it without switching over--something that seems to be a pain in the ass.

So what combo you're running right now? Cause I'm also running oxygen3 and franco linaro 194.
