Free Galaxy Gear at Verizon Wireless

Heard an ad on the radio Wednesday morning here in Houston about a store that was doing that. Said first 25 to purchase a N3 on-contract, which is when I actually started to listen to the commercial. They never repeated the location, just the date and time, and never heard that ad again after listening for another 2 hours.

I live in Phoenix and I heard the last half of radio commercial saying ...." Free galaxy gear with purchase of a galaxy note 3" but I never found out where or which carrier.

It's the craziest "hush-hush" marketing I've ever seen. The reps working at the store didn't even know much about it (which was evident by the fact there were more Samsung reps (like 30) than Verizon employees (2!)).

So If is true, then it only works by getting s new contract or upgrading? Not at full retail?
