free phone memory

i wanted to install some random apps when the phone suddenly told me that the internal storage is full
how to get some space?
might this be caused by an exploding mailbox?

Nothing is free, I use my phone mainly as a music player so when I realized I couldn't very much muisc(about 1gb) I bought an extra memory. To be honest it was really cheap 16gb for ?15
