Hey guys running IHO7.1 here. What kind of recommendations can you give for increasing the internal storage size?

Before when I was using the stock (rooted) rom I used a program.. i think it was Link2SD but I found it to be a bit confusing as I never really knew what was stored internally or what was stored on the 2nd SD partition and quite frankly it didn't seem to increase my internal capacity anyway.

Then I went with the IHO 7.1 rom and that freed up a bunch of space but now I'm to the point where I'm below 50MB. I manage it by moving all the apps that I can to SD and by uninstalling apps I don't use but it's annoying when I can't even install an app because there is little space internally.

Also I don't quite understand why apps still use some internal storage even after moved to SD? Sure a 10MB app can be moved to SD but it still might use 1MB of internal storage after the move. Can anything be done about this?

It's aggravating to have 2GB free on my SD but not be able to put anything else on it because my internal storage is too full!

I had honestly hoped that CM7 would have the option to add "internal" storage space using SD memory but I can't find that option.. it might not even exist.

What do you guys do to handle this kind of problem?

Just a warning, using anything other than the native apps2sd functionality means having to follow specific steps when upgrading your ROM. Please read the documentation for each method, and prepare your phone accordingly when upgrading/changing ROMs.

I personally use TitaniumBackup (paid version) to integrate the system dalvik cache into the system partition. This must be undone before flashing an upgrade, or else you will have to reflash gapps and have issues with widgets etc.

I have been using link2sd for a long time, every once in a while you have to recreate mount scripts and reboot, its super simple, other than that it works perfectly.

I tried doing so with Root Explorer under system / media / audio / ringtones\\notification sounds
When I try deleting it I get a message saying:
" ".ogg cannot be deleted because the file system is read only.
" " being the name of the file with. Ogg at the end of it. Any other way?

Make sure you click the button near the top so that it says R/W, then you should be able to delete. ;)
