I used titanium backup to freeze the HTC lock screen slider bar, however it still shows up. If i back it up and delete it, it does the trick but titanium won't let me restore it even though it says there is a backup. I want it gone but I want to be able to restore it if needed, how do i do this?

Just move the htc lockscreen apk from system/app to your sd card.

ok, ill try one of those thx.

no problem, if you're not familiar with working in the shell then root explorer is a great app. Just browse over to the system/app folder, mount it as read/write (button the upper right of the screen) and move the htc lock screen apk file to your sdcard. Be sure to re-mount system/app as read only when you're done.
