Freezing & unresponsive

Funny I don't get any freezing at all on mine. It runs smoothly all the time. I DID however get the black screen for a second or two when waking it up via the home button. I use SD Maid and maybe this is helping me when it clears my cache every few days.

I can't even take it back, if I did, when I try to show the technician at the store the problem, it wouldn't happen as it happens randomly. How in the world can we prove to the place where we bought it from that this phone is a pile of garbage?

I didn't mean take the phone back.. Lol, I meant I take back my previous statement.

It's just froze again but this time it restarted itself which is a first.

I hope you're actually referring to YOUR one phone as a pile of garbage and not the Edge+ in general because for every phone model manufactured in history, there's always a select few that are in varying degrees defective. It doesn't make all phones piles of garbage, it just makes them... well, phones. Technology isn't perfect dude and that's probably what customer service will tell you if you try taking it back to them complaining that they sold you a pile of garbage.

I can't begin to tell you how many phones I've owned that had similar or worse bugs/glitches than just a short freeze every few days. Hell, it's not like Apple's Antennagate where people COULDN'T TAKE CALLS. Just relax and wait for a firmware update, a 10-second freeze every 2 to 3 days won't kill ya.

Yeah, was fine yesterday but got it twice as well today. Not as bad as before, but still annoying...

There was a new update installed so maybe thats why it restarted because i also caught mine restarting as well after a full charge but i had seen that there were updates in line.

Anyway not sure if people used my recommendation but since using only the SIDE button to check my phone it hasnt frozen in the last few days. My thinking is that the HOME button is memory intensive because they have put all kinds of functions on it (i.e double click to bring the camera up and so many other) so maybe thats the reason for it getting stuck. I am not a technician or a developer so no idea what im talking about. Just using common sense. :)

Anyone else who uses the SIDE button only but still got his phone frozen?

I purchased a whited unlocked international g928c from Expansys and now having regrets. I complained today to them because of micro scratches on the edge part of the screen and I am using a good case mate case no drops they said to exchange it since it was a physical damage issue it would be a 25% restocking fee to replace the phone I have only had it a week for crips sake. Then tonight I started having the issue that you guys are all talking about I will be sending them another email and if they do not take care of me I will be escalating to Samsung.

Re: Freezing & unresponsive

Seems like this is happening mostly to g928c units. Is this happening to anyone NOT using a g928c? Because this doesn't happen to my g9287.

Re: Freezing & unresponsive

I've had a whole day without one freeze, first day without one. It really isn't as annoying as some people on these forums are making it out to be. I'm one of the pickiest people I know, when it comes to any tech I own if it has the slightest problem I usually can't handle it, but I've had this problem since the day I got the phone and yes it's annoying when it happens but it doesn't drive me insane.

Mine is the G928F, however since the small update yesterday, it hasn't froze yet. Fingers crossed this was the update we were waiting for.

On a side note, I tried last week the app disabler to rid my phone of any bloatware. It didn't fix the problem. However I did not uninstall the app prior to the update yesterday and I haven't had any issues so far.

No, no update yet :(

Hold on it should come sooner or later. First thing you'll notice is that now the battery drain on standby is fixed! Usually my battery life would drain from 100% to 70% in 2 hours even if I don't touch the phone! Now I went to the Gym and the battery life was 100%, finished the Gym after 2 hours and the battery life is still 97%!! This is how this phone should be.

Didn't experience the freezing bug so far but I guess this is too soon to judge yet as I had just done a factory reset after the firmware update just to ensure everything is 100% right.

I had an email from Expansys USA today saying they would return/exchange my phone because now it was a software issue issue so no restocking fee. But after how rude they were about the scratch issues. I am not so sure they wouldn't get it and try to blame me. Plus I might just want a g9287 now. But haven't seen them in white only decent color besides white is silver but can't find a live picture of one. Ugh!
