Frickng adverts on ac app

I deleted the AC app yester after receiving the update, and am just using Feedly to read their articles. Unfortunate really since it was in my top 5 most used applications for sure.

Re: seriously Android Central?

Unfortunately not. Thing with one-time payments is just that: they're one time. Ads offer a recurring revenue stream. And I assume them offering subscription services would not work either, as I can't really see too many people paying a monthly or annual fee, regardless of how low it is. So I do understand their problem, as they need to make money somehow. But I just don't think they're going about it the right way. I deleted the app yesterday and get my AC articles through Feedly now.
I've paid for a whole lot of no more ads in app purchases

Ads

This is getting bad, i love AC but am not going to put up with ads in the news feed to much longer i will un install soon and find my android news elsewhere.

This used to be the first app I would install on every new device, hell it even kept me on Android when I considered going to iOS (I gave up because there's no AC app on iOS). So it really sucks to see it ruined like this. It's always a shame when greed ruins a good thing. I'm uninstalling for now, hopefully they will add some way to remove ads by paying a fee (or subscription)

Also deleted the AC app today. A sponsored item after every 2 news items is too much. When scrolling through the news it's very annoying you have to look for "sponsored item" first before reading the news item title. I absolutely hate add's in apps.

Great responses fellow acers. I wonder if the powers that be are reading this thread.
Even if they did, it won't make a difference. This is not the first thread to complain about ads here... there have been many. Unfortunately, even with all those other threads, it still get's worse. LOL! It's a business.

In cases such as this app, I'd much rather live with a well placed banner ad. The sponsored ads in the news stream smacks of "fake news" click bait a la Facebook, Twitter, Taboola etc.

I happily rolled back that update! Those ads are trying to be sneaky and I don't appreciate that.

Re: Ads

I agree, I understand them needing a source of income through ads and I wouldn't mind the ads if they were just banner ads at the bottom of each article or something but this is too frequent and too in your face

I have been really enjoying the Android authority app. There are loads of important issues covered by Android authority that ac aren't bothering to report on, like the fact that Evernote wanted the right to read everyone's notes, yet because of consumer outcry they have decided against changing the TOS. Ac are probably too busy writing about such vital issues as what colour phone to buy, or how to save a photo.

How to export your notes from Evernote | Android Central

Evernote has changed its mind, won't actually read your notes | Android Central ;).

First it was going to change its privacy policy to allow a small number of employees to read user content to suggestions using machine learning, and people weren't impressed. The move came after the company, which had been experiencing financial troubles, limited to two the number of devices able to access notes on its free tier. Then, Evernote backtracked on the privacy change, [admitting it "messed up."](https://blog.evernote.com/blog/2016/12/15/evernote-revisits-privacy-policy/ Still, people are unhappy, and justifiably so. Some may choose to leave altogether.

To be 100% clear, are we talking about the main AC app, or the forums tapatalk app?

Totally get the concerns, just want to be sure I'm looking into the right app before I do anything :)

"We've also introduced ads. We know ads aren't sexy, so we're working on integrating them as unobtrusively as possible. Let us know what you think!"

The main app, not the forums one.
