My friend's D2 all of a sudden restarted by itself and it's stuck on motorola screen. He is not phone savy so I know he didn't try anything weird. He's not rooted. He dropped his phone a while back and cracked his screen, so he didn't try taken it to verizon to check hat a wrong thinking they won't help him because on the cracked screen, so instead he just handed me his phone and asked me to fix it, lol. I have a rooted Dinc. I figure I can just install the the original update since recovery didn't help either. Can someone please link me where I can find the file to reset his phone, thanks.

Hmm he is just about screwed pull the battery and leave it out. He can try a factory reset doubt that will work. but hold the the power button and x. Once it boots push the search button on the keyboard and wipe data cache. ill try to find an sbf but those are almost impossible to come by what firmware was he running
edit
I'll try and find an sbf but his best bet is to take it to verizon

tried battery pull and didnt work, next option is wipe data, have no idea what firmware he was running, and I'm sure he won't know either is I ask him.

he's not screwed he's most likely going to have to SBF (system bootfile) flash his device. and it will be like the first time he's ever touch his device with a couple war scratches and cracks thrown in.

Check out my droid world, everything you need is over there. Rsd lite and sbf file

Hmm i've thought those sbf have been pulled by motorola but try to see if you can get one from their

Two still their thoughts they got pulled i guess motorola only cares about the droidx

The x files are also available, the only reason a lot of x's are running 2.2.1

I think motorola realized that these files are saving them from receiving hundreds of bricked phones!

ok every time i look they get pulled quickly but thats a good thing. but to op use my droid worlds tripple threat full sbf. and it should have instructons on how to sbf your droid2. i know ive had issues trying to get the sbf to take on a phone that wouldnt boot into android so hope you have better luck than me.
