From BB to Droid X I need help!

I have found several apps that change the LED colors (BLink, Missed call) but I install and they don't work. I'm clueless on what i'm doing wrong. Im getting frustrated trying to fighure this out. Oh is there a ways to take the Facebook contacts out of my contact list? And maybe a way to change how it looks inside like Blackberry has themes?? Please and thank you for helping me with my stupid questions. :-[

Once installed, you have to open the app and configure your settings. Theming Android requires you to root the device, which voids the warranty. Rooting is reversible though.

You can get a slightly different appearance on your device by using alternate launchers like Launcher Pro and ADW without rooting your device, but it isn't as extensive as rooting and theming or installing a custom rom.

As for leds I could never get them to work. Heard it was hit and miss on DroidX. And as for led notifications they're nothing like a bb. After awhile I got used to not depending on my leds

i just made the switch from BB to the X last night and had some of your same issues. on the contact list i can offer some help...open contacts...on the header that reads: CONTACTS, press & hold that section for a few seconds and release. a window will open and show different options. click on "Phone Contacts" and this will set it to show just those.

It reverts back to all of them after that. I want them not to be in there at all. lol I have many peolple on my facebook.

Did you login to your Facebook account via friends stream? You would either have to remove that account, or long press on each contacts to delete the ones you don't need.
Ps. Also, You could also turn sync off for your Facebook contacts in friends stream.
I used the Facebook widget and place it om my home screen.

I use SMS Popup, a small app that puts Text messages over the lock screen (you can close, reply or delete from the popup box).

This app allows you to configure the led colors and assign custom ring tones for individual contacts. And, it does work. I understand - but don't have - a sister app called Email Popup.

Handcent and Go SMS also allow for custom contact LEDs. And ringtones and notifications.

Handcent handles my custom LED colors pretty well. It's an all around great sms app IMO.
