Front camera got invisible

I'm using m8 for 5 months. Recently, for a problem I had to soft reset the phone. After resetting, I saw that the front camera's option and also the dual camera button got invisible as you see in the screenshot.
I even tried to hard reset it but same issue. I even disabled the camera app, cleared the cache and also data but same result.

Perhaps a cache clear in recovery? Other than that, I am not sure what to suggest; I have not been on a stock ROM for quite some time.
