Froyo and Car Dock

I noticed a few differences while connected to the car dock today. If you exit the car dock mode to get to your regular home screen, you can not get back to the car dock mode unless you start it from your app drawer. With 2.1, I was able to get back to car dock mode by just pressing the home button....not anymore.

Also, if you're like me and position your phone in landscape mode while in the car dock, it turns back to portrait mode after making or receiving a phone call and stays that way. No way for it to go back unless you exit car dock mode and go back into it.

Anyone else having these issues?

i have not had a phone call yet, so i dont know about that issue, but yes, on mine if u go to ur homescreen, you cannot go back to the car dock screen without opening the drawer and hitting the app. i wish you could just hit the home button.

I'm just curious what those blank buttons in the car dock are for. I assumed they meant we could add our own apps in there, but I can't find how to do that.

I thought the same thing....but couldn't figure it out either. Long press doesn't seem to do anything.

very good question. i was hoping it would mean some type of customization, if not, it just looks weird. haha.

Seeing those empty spaces makes it feel like this latest version is just not completed yet. Maybe they let us download it to test things out before distributing it to the masses.

Are there any updates to this issue yet? I haven't been able to find anything in several forums. The blank / empty spaces are driving me nuts
