Froyo concerns?

The Atrix seems almost the ideal phone to me. I am thrilled by the decision to have "only" a 4" screen (vs. 4.3" or larger), and am as excited about the huge battery as any other feature. Only thing: Is anybody worried that the Atrix will never see an upgrade past Froyo? OEMs are already having enough trouble updating phones in a timely fashion, and this thing has a whole sub-OS for all the docks/accessories!

No cause if you go to the moto site it clearly says 2.3 update later in year.

I would be absolutely shocked if the Atrix or Bionic did not receive updates to Gingerbread after release. I won't promise anything, but I'd bet my bottom dollar it will.

Motorola and HTC have been very good about timely updates. Motorola has promised Gingerbread on the Atrix, and I'm expecting them to deliver.

After all, they updated the original Droid twice (from 2.0 -> 2.1 -> 2.2).

Samsung and Sony Ericsson are the manufacturers that break their promises...

Ok good points. I had not previously seen any reference to a 2.3 upgrade so that is a bit reassuring. Can't wait for this!

It will get it, but not when the company says... They are pushing this thing out the door as fast as possible they want time between it and the iphone5. With that said, if i were to guess it will be October/Nov 2012 when we see 2.3 on it
