Any news on possible getting froyo for the transform?

Also, I'm gonna give you guys my thoughts on this phone. I've had a lot of mid-range phones. Started with the. Palm pre, got the blackberry 8530, the blackberry tour, the hero, and the samsung transform. The thing that I noticed is that people are trying to compare this phone to the evo, or epic.. the truth is, you can't compare it to them. Keep it in it's mid-range class, and this phone shinesM it loads apps fast, and foes many things well. I give the 800 mghz processor an 8 out of 10(has a tiny bit of lag, but loads fast).

I LOVE the keyboards.. on-screen and off-screen. The off screen is simply great(slider).

I give the front and rear camera a 7.. the picture quality is aweful, but since it has a front camera, it gets a 7 instead of a 6.

Phone call quality is a 7.

Now.. all these scores didn't give me a bad opinion on the phone.. for some reason, this phone keeps me gloo'd to it. It has a great user-friendly feel! I would rate this phone the best mid-range device sprint has. It does have some glitches, but it's a solid device!

I give it a 7.8 out of 10

Well, I meant the front camera is awful.

Front camera on the Epic & Evo are VGA and pictures are sub par quality.
The front camera is meant mostly for self portraits & Video chat.

I agree the transform is a great mid range device. Bought one for my wife.

She loves it. Angry birds runs fine on her phone. She plays Jewels , AB, uses a recipe app. gmail & hotmail & uses handcent sms, so far she has had 0 complaints. Of course she is coming from an LG rumor.
I had her take the pre for a test drive. She liked it too except for the cramped keyboard, & she noticed the insane lag in boot up time.

The Transform blows the Pre away ( stock Pre) Once Guvnah is loaded with overclock @ 1000 the Pre is fast but still takes longer to boot than the transform.

i agree with your assesment of the phone...ive had it for a couple weeks now and i was thinking about trading it for the Epic, but i think im going to keep it. It does EVERYTHING i need it to do and with minimum lag...every app ive installed runs fine and really, i know the Epic has a larger screen and a faster processor and 4g, but how fast do you REALLLY need your phone to be? Im happy with my transform.

I have to agree the phone lags at times but hey, for the price and not paying the $10 a month extra I am very happy with the phone.

Ya, its actually a good phone. Hate to tell you guys, but my contract ended. I gave the transform to my gf, and got the epic lol but I do got love for the transform. Maybe ill put a comparison video up later :)

I love my Transform, no lag for me but....

I have to agree the phone lags at times but hey, for the price and not paying the $10 a month extra I am very happy with the phone.

I've had my Transform since November 2010. Actually since I got mine I've made some changes. First of all, trying to find out why the GMAIL sync never says its working, I hard reset my phone. Then I used the "Sprint Clean" ID pack, this installs the bare minimum. I know what apps I wanted anyway. Then I was reading an article on how to speed up android phones. The author suggested installing Launcherpro. I was so impressed by how much faster it was, I bought the Plus, was only like 2.99. I run a security program plus other apps at the same time and have very little problem with lag. It smokes my Blackberry curve in every way. Bout the only downside to the phone is Samsungs unacceptable delay in bringing Froyo to it. It's going to kick some butt when it gets Froyo. That's assuming Samsung gives us a correctly working version...
