Froyo Update and Unrevoked3

Is updating to Froyo mandatory? If so, oh well...can someone help out a recent EVO convert and point me to the Un-rooting instructions?

I would, but since i did the unrevoked 3 method, i've heard i can't install a CM6 rom.. and i'd have to Unroot.. then do a full root method.. then i'd be able to install the CM6 roms.. this is what i've understood from reading on the forums ..

I did unrevoked3 and then simple root on top. I didn't have to un-root to do the full root after I did unrevoked and it worked for me. I'm currently using CM6 nightly build.
