Hi everyone,

I am new and I do not have an Android phone :-) but for almost a year I am waiting for a tablet that would fulfil my needs.
At the moment I am using (as a mobile device) netbook Asus 1201N and as much as I like it tablet is even more fun to carry around, has better battery life, etc, etc.... but can it have a proper browser installed?

One of the web sites I am using almost everyday (from Poland) is Hulu over VPN.
So far it would not work on any tablet i know (this is why I do not have a iPad - as it is one feature missing I need). I know there is Hulu Plus ($7.99/month) but I can not pay for it being in Poland + why would I pay for something that I can have free on netbook (also mobile device!).

Since in this presentation (YouTube - Motorola XOOM tablet Verizon @ CES 2011 Running Honeycomb) it is mentioned few times that Honeycomb will give it user full browser support or fully PC like experience my question is (that probably no one knows the answer to yet :-(. Will I be able to use built in browser (or install full ver. of any other browser) to watch free version of hulu, crackle, bbc, itv, etc...???

And since we are talking about watching.... I got at home simple NAS drive (MY Book World Edition) - will I be able to watch movies stored on this drive the same way I can now with my Asus (or should I rather look for tablet with Windows 7 on board)?

More than likely you will have to use browser options obtained through the Android market. However, you are able to change the default user agent of the browser to make it tell website that it is a desktop browser. The default Android Browser and Dolphin HD at least do this and I'm sure others do as well.

Doing this and having a Flash 10 plugin installed should, in theory allow you to do exactly what you want.

I have read somewhere about this (making Android browser to appear as desktop version) and ppl. were complaining that it is a problem due to their screen size, but it was all in connection with phones.
On the Xoom on the other hand I do want to see full versions of all sites, not the ones designed for mobiles.

Thanks, I am hopeful it will be a good system and excellent device :-)

Where do you go to change settings so that it displays full version of web pages amd not mobile ones

There is usually a link at the bottom that will say something like "full website"...click that & presto..I'm able to do that on Archos 70...so i know it will easy on the Xoom.

or buy an Atrix with the laptop dock...I think I read somewhere that that browser is a full desktop browser...so Hulu, netflix etc will all work...correct me if I am wrong
