ROOT ONLY! Hack has been done. Use the full browser without using the about debug trick. Credit to Sangreal06 at xda. Dl link rename to framework-res.apk. with root explorer copy from SD card and paste in system/framework. Click OK to overwrite and it will reboot. Enjoy.

Ummmm... lol sorry I'm not sure what auto loading mobil is. I feel like the browser on my xoom functions quite like my pc actually. I need a little more clarification.

type in something like nascar.com the xoom with take you to the mobile site that is something like m.nascar.com Also I think bestbuy.com with auto take you to the mobile site. This hack will make it so your browser will always load the page you want not force you to a mobile site.

Getting permission denied in root explorer because the file system is read only

Before you paste it you need to look up top in root explorer and click mount R/W. You will then have permission to write to the system and paste.

Thanks, that was a stupid oversight. It worked, but not before I somehow bricked my xoom. Back up now after a few hours of trying to find a reload stock wifi images.

This killed my xoom again. After the replacement of the file and the reboot. I unlock it and all the processes are failing to launch and can't even get to the app launcher. I have a wifi btw. Ugghhh reallydon't feel like reimaging this thing again. GRRRR

OK. Was a good thing this time around that I had USB Debugging still turned on and I had a back up of the original .apk. I was able to adb shell remount the file system as rw and adb push the file. I'm back up and running now, but it's safe to say that for the WIFI Xoom at least, this is not safe to use.

can the browser play HULU websight? I just saw the playbook video showing HULU working on there browser.

Hulu just didn't add to their list of blocked devices yet. It will happen they block all mobile devices. Anytime a work around is found they block it. Skyfire browser used to work to but they kept shutting it down. Hulu wants you to pay for their service.

and it shouldn't be blocked it is more netbook and my netbook has no issues. this is a issue that xoom has it designed its browser more inline with a phone then with a netbook. I just wish the tablets would move away from this phone mentality.
