Full Length 3D Movies

I don't recall HTC ever saying that were more. I recall them saying that more would come but who knows how long that'll take. My guess is that it'll take a few months or so to hammer out the rights to more 3D content. The Blockbuster app actually turned up a few 3D titles for me a few days ago and I was able to download Drive Angry in 3D. Unfortunately it disappeared from my phone a few hours later and I can't find it anymore. I contacted Blockbuster, I want my money back, but I haven't heard back yet.

The streaming services are supposed to start releasing them more. However I haven't seen any firm dates. This is independent of the 3VO device.

Just watched Tron in 3d on my phone as well as some documentaries

Unlike gopro3d (because of its brevity I assume), during movies I seem to "forget" that it's in 3d, IE I don't notice it after a while. Found myself purposefully leaving the right viewing angle for a few seconds just so that when I came back everything "popped" again.

I haven't decided if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I don't notice the 3d after a while ... On one hand it means it's integrated well, on the other it means it's not all that special that after 25 minutes I forget it's even there.

Anyway slightly more on topic, I just borrow side-by-side movies from "friends" in a place that is designed for sharing and lending of digital files ... if you catch my drift.

Lots of good ones out there, watched Tron just because I hadn't seen it yet, but Alice in Wonderland looks really good too, and obviously Avatar

PM'd, not sure about how strict the no warez policy is on this site so I didn't want to say the name just in case

Lol guys it's not that hard to find a torrent website ...

Instead of PMing you the name of the biggest torrent website on the internet (seriously, just google it you can't miss it) I'll do you all one better, show you what to do with the files once you find them.

First off, what type of 3d are you looking for? You want stereoscopic side-by-side videos. What this means is the movie is actually 2 videos playing side-by-side (that's what you'll see if you open it on a non-3d-screen). Do NOT download anaglyph 3d (that's the red-and-blue type). The 3vo will NOT play those in 3d. The way the evo works is takes those two side-by-side images and merges them, so if it's just one image with red/blue, it won't know what to do with it.

Once you find what you're looking for, it will likely be in a .mkv format or something similarly strange. The 3vo likes .m4v and .mp4 the best, so we need to convert (this is to your advantage anyway because it's at this point that we can lower the resolution and shrink the file size by about 80%, saving you space)

Follow this tutorial for converting, it's very straight-forward.

Once you have it converted, obviously plug your 3vo in and put it somewhere on your sd (My movies are in "My Documents", doesn't really matter though)

You *MUST* use a 3vo-native app to watch these videos. If you use arcMedia or any other 3rd party video viewer, it won't work (no 3rd party apps support 3d yet). I use "Gallery". Start the video and you'll see it in 2d, with 2 images next to each other. Just hit your settings button, then "Play in 3d" and voila, you have Avatar in 3d on your phone (or whatever movie you decide to ... legally acquire.)

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions. As for now, I'm going to fall asleep watching Alice in Wonderland in 3d on my phone ;) Hit thanks if this helps :D

ok, gotcha, that will surely force me to get a bigger sd card, currently have my samsung epic 16gb card... looks like I will be in the market for a 32...

now... you wouldn't mind uploading some of your movies to lets say rapidshare and pm me a link would ya ;)

16 gigs should be no problem, no movie will be larger than 2 gigs after you convert it (you scale the size down to qHD size instead of 1080p)

Lol I don't have rapidshare premium so that would take ages, they're everywhere online I'm sure you can find some

No real content out there except ones you make yourself. Only youtube has 3D trailers and homemade stuff.

I downloaded Avatar 3D and someone made Star Wars A New Hope into 3D and I had to convert it to m4v format. Both looks amazing... Avatar is a must have on the phone regardless of what you think of the movie, the 3D shows well in every scene. Star Wars was a 2D movie converted into 3D by someone and I was amazed how good the 3D took fun to watch that movie in 3D :)

"No real content out there" lol what do you mean? For the past 2 years TONS of movies have been in 3d

lol... for the EVO 3D... I mean readily available for the 3VO... unless you like converting 30GB blueray 3D movies.

And you can always convert 2D into 3D but that's not what I'm getting at.

No apps using 3D except the camera and a couple games, not much 3D content offered on the side of blockbuster... none from netflix and not much on youtube still.

Hopefully after the LG 3D phone hits the market and GSM carriers start providing stuff... we'll see more 3D content.
