Full price?

Even if the full off-contract price at Sprint is $549 as I think it will be, you will be better off going straight to Spring and getting it there, the anounced off-contract price at BB is rumored to be $699 which is insane but credible for BB.

Also remember, in Cali, you are paying tax on the full retail price with a new contract, which is why BB sucks for phones here.

The above scenario, $549, would cost you about an extra $13 bucks in taxes at BB, with a new 2yr contract.
And if it actually comes in at $399 at sprint, its about an extra 26 bucks in taxes at BB.

(Not sure if other states are like this)

I pre-ordered with Sprint. My experience with BB is prices for out-of-contract phones are significantly inflated as compared to carrier full retail.

Well boys & girls... five more days... :)

And as the weirdness continues...when I chatted with a Sprint rep today I was told that they are unable to release any pricing details for the Nexus S 4G as they do not have that information. At this point I don't know what's going on...this is ridiculous....

I have a question about the off-contract price for the Nexus S 4G. I'm currently with T-Mobile and have the Nexus S with them Non-Contract with their even more plus plan. My plan is 500 anytime minutes, unlimited nights/weekends, unlimited data (capped at 5GB with throttling) and unlimited text. My monthly bill is $59.99. I have about 3 more weeks on my return period with Best Buy.

I went in to my local Sprint store the other day to discuss the possibility of switching over. She informed me that I would get a 23% discount because of my employer (Costco) and my bill would be about $63 a month for the 450 min Everything Data Plan. She also mentioned a $25 credit for switching over to Sprint from T-mobile that would be credited within 61 days on my bill. As I understand it from reading through the various posts on this and other forums I will also have to pay the $36 activation if I purchase through the retail store. If I buy online will I still be able to get the $25 credit for switching and set up my employer discount in a addition to waiving the activation fee? I also want to be able to return the phone in store if the need may arise within my return period. Can anyone confirm that this is possible if purchased online or through Telesales? I'm not sure what the difference between a corp Sprint store is and a regular retail store.

The other major consideration I have is the difference between purchasing at the $199 (New 2 year commitment) price or the $399/$449/$549 (whatever it may be) off-contract. Is there any advantage to this with Sprint for a new customer. I believe I remember hearing that sprint doesn't allow non-contract plans like T-mobile does so this pricing is only important for those not eligible for a upgrade correct? If I can start up my new plan with all the mentioned benefits non-contract obviously I would prefer to do so. Thanks for any guidance you guys can offer. I'm in the dark about Sprint's policies and rules.

At least the store I bought mine from didn't charge me the stupid activation fee since I purchased it off contract. I can't say I have ever had any issues with Sprint's customer service/support.

Shouldn't ever be an activation fee if you buy it off the shelf at msrp. That is a free service and one you can do yourself online. ESN swaps are free.

If the store has a service center, they should also be punching you in for an ESN/Phone book swap to the new device and get themselves some more money from Sprint that way.
