Full price?

And I certainly hope it was right.
Can't understand why after the phone is officially anounced there is still no clear (official) information about the full price of this phone...
My plan is to pick one off contract but above $500 is just too pricy in my opinion.
At a Sprint store, the phone will cost you $549.99 full retail, but hey, guess what? Instant rebates are being extended through 6/04/11.
I save all my emails from sprint. Which I have a feeling I will be needing the next time I visit.
i actually have an email from a sprint e-chat customer service rep saying the price was 399.99$ (retail) and made sure she would note it into my account! hahahahaha
Yeah I just had a chat with a Rep and got the 399 price as well. I have a feeling preordering at best buy was a mistake cause I'm pretty sure that their going to jack up the price to around 500

Edit: Just had a chat with Best Buy, their price is going to be 699.99 and you may or may not be able to price match it. Sucks.

For what it's worth (just shy of nothing), I just got out of a chat with a Sprint rep and was given the $449.99 price. Would be nicer to see $399!
Just me being curious I opened a chat with Sprint to ask for the full retail and was told $399.99. Guess they don't know what is going on, how can reps look for the same information and get multiple answers. I will try to make them uphold the $399.99 price I was told, who knows. Maybe they will make themselves accountable for giving incorrect information.
Print that chat and especially highlight the chat number. I hope I get the 449.99 and would even be a better day if they gave it to me for 399.99!
A thought just popped into my head and maybe I'm wrong. But what if the people getting the 449 price is where the reps are adding the activation and whatnot fees onto the 399? Just a thought
I'm just going to wait and see what shows up on Sprint's site Sunday morning. I already pre-ordered it at Best Buy, but if the price is $399 off contract, I might try to get BB to price match it. As for accuracy of the Reps...I chatted with a rep the day before they announced May 8th as the date and they told me it wouldn't be out until June sometime. I'm starting to think that each rep has a Nexus S 4G Magicians' hat, and just pulls out a little sheet of paper and gives that as the answer, regardless of the question.
Maybe he confused it with the Evo.
I don't listen to any rep. They know nothing. Like the guy at the sprint store who always has a brand phone I'm looking at. Everytime. Yet didn't know (When I was new to android) how to get the screen to auto rotate.
I'm sure when I go in and look at the epic he'll "Own an epic"
(Or the one that worked there when the epic came out and I asked her a question about the update and she said she didn't get it. Yet, I got her to show me her phone (which she insisted had screen wobble) and proved there was an update.
I know they are just people and not phone gods, lol. But come on: when you see someone come in who clearly knows more about the phone they are looking at than you do any other phone (Possibly your own) please don't lie/market me. (For any reps on the forums.)
If you really want to buy it off-contract, and the Sprint price turns out to be $399 (I highly doubt it, I bet is $549), you'll be better off just going directly to Sprint and buying it there, then using the BB credit for something else in the future.
Even if the full off-contract price at Sprint is $549 as I think it will be, you will be better off going straight to Spring and getting it there, the anounced off-contract price at BB is rumored to be $699 which is insane but credible for BB.
As for Sprint Customer Service Agents, 18+ years with Sprint have taught me they are well-intentioned but ill-informed in most matters regarding smartphones... almost as clueless as my local news weather man.

I spoke with Dan Hesse's rep today. He confirmed the $449. There is in fact a $100 MIR.
Here is part of the body of the email he sent after our talk. "As discussed on our call,
the Nexus S 4G from Google had a regular retail price of $449.99.
Customers who are eligible for the full upgrade discount, the device
would cost $299.99 out of pocket before the $100 mail in rebate. After
the rebate is received, the device would cost $199.99 plus tax with a
new 2 year service agreement.".
To be eligible for the $100 MIR, you must be at the full $150 upgrade, otherwise no $100 for you.

Not sure, but doesn't hurt trying... if successful you'll be walking out with a new phone, extra cash and a big grim on your face...
The $449 retail does not surprise me at all. The rest of the email - the part about the mail in rebate though contradicts what is at sprint.com/nexus (notice the part that says INSTANT SAVINGS):

Until the phone is actually released though anything can change so all speculation at this point is moot. Not much longer to wait to find out though.
