Full Screen Camera vs Not Full Screen (I Thought it Was Me)

I finally figured out what was going on. I kept having to reset my camera resolution because it would drop from highest res (4032x3024 to 3024x1960). I finally decided my camera app was buggy. I changed the camera display mode to "full screen", took some shots and the resolution had dropped again. Googled it. Yep, when you shoot in full screen, the resolution drops

Yeah, the full-screen mode is a crop of the 4:3 (12MP) max resolution.
