My husband and I both got the Thunderbolt yesterday...straight out of the box on start up we noticed that his slide screens looked different then mine and had different full or have screen widgets on them then mine.

I'm coming from a BB Storm 2 and completely new to Android tech. Can someone please explain to me how to make some of my apps (ie Calendar or Google Search bar) more than just a tiny icon.

I had the Calender widget originally as it's own slide screen but my kids accidentally removed it and I want to put it back, but can't figure out how...all I can do it put up the tiny icon.

HELP PLEASE!!!

Much Thanks...

Find a clear spot on your home screen, on the clear space press and hold the screen a menu will pop up , select widgets , and then select the widget you want

try this,

your app drawer can be opened via the button on the bottom left of the screen (on your home screen, and above the home key).. ALL of your apps are there. if you press any one of them long enough, you will be given the option to 'create a shortcut' on your home screen. what this does is it creates a copy of that same icon from the app drawer (where all the apps are) and it puts it on your desktop too, letting you access that app from 2 different places.
The ABOVE is what you did, and is not what you want to do to achieve the right thing.

here's what you have to do:
instead of pressing the left button (the one to the left of the PHONE button), press the button that looks like a color palate on the right of the PHONE button (on the home screen).
then hit "WIDGET"
once you go into widgets, you can select which you'd like to add. Lets say you chose CALENDAR (there are 2, so lets say the 1st one, made by htc), you can then swipe left and right to see the different SIZES they offer for that widget. After you got the one you like, just hit SELECT and it will take you back to the home screen for placement of the widget.
some widgets can be big and take up all of one of the 7 home screens. Some can be small and take up only room as an icon, say for example a widget thats a button to turn bluetooth on/off.

i have that large calendar widget on one of my 7 screens and love it! the color codes are exactly in my gmail calendar on my pc.

hope that helps and doesnt sound too confusing.
