On the Note 8 you could expand the videos to fit the screen. On the V30 I can't find it. Any help would be great.

really no point in having 18:9 aspect ratio if it doesn't have that feature where I'm going to want it most.

I noticed this too today while playing with one. The video playing was the same size as my 7+. It cut the videos sides

I was told Pixel 2 XL would zoom on YouTube but I tried it today at VZW store and it does NOT. Nothing I could do to get full screen video even on wide screen format videos claiming to have 2/1 screen ratio. Those showed up cropped at both ends and top and bottom.

When viewing a non 18:9 video on an 18:9 screen in landscape mode, you will get one of these results:
1. The movie is fit to the screen height leaving black bars at the left and right to maintain the movie's screen shape.
2. The movie is zoomed in to fit the left-right which causes the height to be cropped at the top and bottom.
3. The movie is stretched (distorted) on the left-right to artificially fill the space.

To most people, options 2 and 3 are not acceptable.

I picked up the V30 on friday and have used youtube often as my son watches videos. I have not had any issues with videos on youtube not being full screen.

I just know that you can watch YouTube full screen now. Just pinch out at the video and show full screen now.

Yes, I noticed the new behavior last night.
There was a Yahoo app update within the last two days.
