fully charging a phone

Since i bought my Note 5 i ve been letting it fully charge(100%) before start using it. But some people told me that i shouldn t do so because it damage the battery. Adding that the best tip is to charge my phone when it gets to 40% and to not charging it over 80%. Is that true ? Please answer me.

Yeah, as jasonandrews25788 said below, that's not true. Charge your phone when it needs to be charged and don't worry about that stuff. Just make sure you're using good quality cables and AC adapters.
